Jellyberry.ai
Positioning and a launch-ready presence for a screenless, ambient AI companion — conversation, focus, meditation, and soundscapes told through light, not a display.
From concept to working prototype, built in Brighton — six operating modes shipped, an early-access programme live, and a first small-batch production run now in development.

The brief
Jellyberry started with a simple but compelling question: what would it look like to have a genuinely intelligent companion in your home that didn't involve another glowing screen competing for your attention? We wanted to create a voice-first AI device that helped with everyday thinking, focus, and calm, expressed through ambient light rather than a display. The brief was to bring that vision to life: product design, software, identity, and web presence, all cohering around a central idea of ambient intelligence and the natural world.
The challenge
Jellyberry needed to occupy a credible space between consumer AI products like Amazon Echo and the more rarefied world of design-led objects, without being dismissed as either an Alexa clone or an overly niche art piece. The device's value isn't immediately obvious — it lives in how it feels to use, the quality of the conversations it holds, the calm it adds to a room. That experience had to be communicated through language, light, and design before anyone could hold the physical object, while the technical substance stayed real: Google Gemini Live for conversation, a user-controlled memory layer, a custom touch-triggered wake system for privacy, and six operating modes built around focus, breathing, soundscapes, live outdoor data, and natural conversation.
Our approach
We anchored the product story in two ideas held in tension: intelligence and calm. Jellyberry is smart enough to hold a real conversation across changing subjects, and designed to reduce screen time and create a quieter, more focused environment.
We anchored the product story in two ideas held in tension: intelligence and calm.
The sea gooseberry — a bioluminescent comb jelly Jellyberry is modelled on — gave the product its visual identity and a genuinely distinctive origin story in a crowded AI hardware market. The website was written to guide a sceptical visitor through understanding: what it is, how it's different, what it actually does, with an FAQ that meets the obvious objections — privacy, internet dependency, the Alexa comparison — head-on.
Solution
A launch-ready website and product narrative that carries the calm, ambient personality of the device, with room to grow as the venture does.

Where AI fits next
Jellyberry is an AI product from the ground up, so this is less a pivot than a roadmap. Next: a richer, user-controlled memory layer so Jellyberry builds a genuinely personal relationship with its owner over time, plus a companion dashboard for reviewing conversation history and usage patterns across modes — turning the device from a standalone object into the centre of a broader calm-tech ecosystem.
